2018 has been a grand year for authentic wicket shit hip-hop! And with the release of Ouija Macc’s “Gutterwater” a new era of Psychopathic Records has fully descended upon the underground to take full control of the music industry and erase faux record labels once and for all. “Gutterwater” finds the Sin City Las Vegas emcee indulging in swift macabre theatrical raps over hallucinogenic acid trap inspired production that will undoubtedly leave the fans of the darker side of hip-hop in a nightmarish musical coma upon first listening. Ouija Macc’s violent, yet witty, lyrical wordplay deep inside this strong effort proves the latest hatchet man was destined to rock the mic since the morning his parents took him home from the hospital days after being born.

For the unfamiliar; a little bit of background behind one of the most eager, talented, Middle Eastern Metal acts in the last decade! Anthony Kaoteon formed Kaoteon by himself in 1999. Then Walid Wolflust joined soon after. The duo are a blackened death metal band that were originally based within Beirut, Lebanon, located in the Middle East. Making music in the Middle East was nearly impossible for the band. Kaoteon faced jail sentences, were constantly persecuted by religion and their local government, and dealt with extreme censorship simply because of the music they performed on the daily. The band is now currently located in the Netherlands capital “Amsterdam”.

Finding music you want to hear or should hear is hard these days as there is so much of it out there at your fingertips. Facebook ads found me my latest review as this band was giving the album away free physically to Linkin Park fans. I had to admit a really good marketing strategy on their part. I took a listen asked for a digital copy and they got it to me fast.

The legendary Troubadour nightclub was buzzing early on a cold Valentines day evening in Beverly Hills. A seemingly endless line of enthusiastic music fans stretched around the block for the sold out concert. But this wasn’t the likes of Guns N Roses or Depeche Mode, both of which recently played much-hyped gigs at the tiny nightclub. This was a young new band, the Vista Kicks, joyfully kicking off a whirlwind national tour at the prestigious venue.
It’s no secret that I am a Pop Evil fan and of course, when the new album comes out I am on top of it and their Self Titled album was no different.
I was already excited when I heard “Walking the Lions” and fell in love with the track…..

In a world where feel-good buzz words like gratitude and blessings are beginning to lose their luster, Matt Mays is the real deal. A true conductor of the gooey kind of good vibes all the new age kids are searching for. I’m not saying that gratitude is a bad thing or that blessing are for suckers, but I’ve definitely heard a fair number of people throwing those words around like candy and it was really nice to be in an environment where you could feel those words.
