“Swedish Metal Onslaught: Sabaton and Amon Amarth Crush Calgary”

On October 4th Calgary was ablaze with a full-speed, melodic metal onslaught of Europe’s finest (with one US band paying homage to the style). Never did I think I’d be at a posh venue like Flames Central watching long-haired, bearded veterans of metal dishing out face-melting riffs in rapid succession. Yes, I’m talking about the experience that was seeing Amon Amarth live with the likes of Skeletonwitch and Sabaton.

Live Coverage: Uninvited Fest 2014 – Doom and Gloom on a Beautiful Day in New York City

Another night, another show, I’m going to three this week, and it’s time for me to step up and deliver. Tonight’s show saw me getting to check out Mount Salem and Bl’ast for the first time as well as seeing my favorite band in the world, SubRosa, yet again. As I ride home back to college and class in less than 10 hours, I’m trying to take a moment to reflect on the glory of what I have seen and the magic that was unveiled to me.

REVIEW – The Glorious Sons “Rock Is Not Dead” + New Video for Heavy & Tour Dates

While other places had crappy weather and even snow I made my way with the AC to Flashbacks in Kelowna, BC. This is a city that has a ton of local talent and even more pass through including some pretty big names. Airbourne, The Glorious Sons and Flash Lightin’ were on the bill for the night. This was an early show and I got to the doors and was able to talk to a few of the fans. I myself was there to see The Glorious Sons since I had a sneak peak of their new album while most said Airbourne. Though I have to say the Glorious Sons came and impressed.
