Four-piece alt-pop band The Kents have unveiled new single, “Is There Anyone?” The infectious track features syncopated rhythms, a sweeping chorus and showcases the band’s impressive musical chops. “Is There Anyone?” is now available to stream and purchase via iTunes HERE and Spotify HERE. The band has also announced a campus tour kicking off September 3, including a date with Hollerado. Before heading on their Fall run, The Kents will be also be appearing at several festivals including Wolfe Island Music Festival, Big Festival, and Hamilton Supercrawl. See below for a full routing.
Says lead vocalist/guitarist Warren Frank about the new song, “This song is about trying to find one’s place amidst the constant barrage of opinions that social media has become. Is there truth to be found within this overwhelming onslaught? Is anyone speaking in a way that edifies and builds people up? Is anyone willing to accept an opinion that isn’t their own?
Is There Anyone comes from a place of realizing that maybe we spend too much time plugged into these platforms and a hope that perhaps in distancing ourselves from them, we will be able to focus more on our lives and the people in them.”
The track is already enjoying airplay on CBC Radio, SiriusXM, Stingray, as well as commercial stations Kingston’s DRIVE, Toronto’s Indie 88 (“Best New Indie”), Ottawa’s Live 885, and Hamilton’s Y108 as well as being featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday, and Spotify’s Indie All Stars.
