Mass Sky Raid are getting ‘Closer’ to their fanbase and to the world with their new single and very first video. The wall-of-sound single is their most impressive outing yet and it will be released into the world this Friday 9th June. To go along with the release of the track, they are today announcing two launch shows in July – one in Brisbane at The Zoo and one in hometown Gold Coast at the Shark Bar, each with a host of Australia’s best up and coming rock outfits.
Saturday 15th July at The Zoo Brisbane will see He Danced Ivy, Rival Fire, These Four Walls and Dollarosa in support and Friday 21st July at Shark Bar in Miami, Gold Coast also features These Four Walls and Chelsea Rockwells.
The filmclip is a first outing for the band, having released a bunch of music over the past few years – but not a clip yet – so the band is doubly enthusiastic about the release. Vocalist Adam Lomas beamed with pride “Mass Sky Raid is something that is dear to our hearts and we put more than everything we’ve got into making the music we want to make – so to drop our debut clip which is for one of our favorite tracks to play and from our forthcoming release… this is pretty awesome and we hope everyone loves it too.“
Guitarist for the band, Alex Kewley is champing at the bit to get the record into the world. “We are seriously wanting this thing out now! The songs on this record are the best we have ever put together and we are going to roll these things out over the next few months and we are looking forward to smashing up the stages at The Zoo and Shark Bar to celebrate the release – then we are going to go again straight away with the record and hit the road properly down the East Coast later in the year!”
The band spent many a late night and a long time perfecting the forthcoming record, including this new single Closer and its predecessor Sacrifice, alongside Loose Stones Studios owner/producer/mix engineer Matt Bartlem, who helmed this entire project from producing to mix to master.
Mass Sky Raid formed in 2011 and have smashed support slots with Dead Letter Circus, Twelve Foot Ninja and I Am Giant and have been featured on radio on Triple M, 4ZZZ and FBi, in addition to over 40 stations in the US, Asia, South America and Europe, including BBC1 & BBC6 in London.
