Jeremy Romeo is a 25 year old singer/songwriter based in Townsville, North Queensland. He started playing piano at the age of six and by the time he was ten he had picked up a guitar and fell in love with writing and playing music. Jeremy has a unique sound that can best be described as pop/rock with streaks of country scattered throughout the uplifting music that motivates and invokes people to reach their potential.
“All You’re Meant to Be is something I’ve had in the works for the last 3 or 4 years now. I actually wrote the title track back in 2012 when I was going through a tough time emotionally, financially and physically. I was down in the dumps but I came to a crossroads where I felt that I had two options, I could sit in my room and feel sorry for myself or I could get out in the world and make positive changes, so that’s exactly what I did. Every song on this EP is really a different phase of my life along the footpath of this journey I have been on the last couple of years. It’s a kind of reminder to myself that no matter how hard life gets, look at where I was then and how far I’ve come. I feel that a lot of people will resonate with that also.” – Jeremy Romeo
All You’re Meant to Be was produced and recorded in Townsville North Queensland at Parkway Studios, owned and operated by Mick Lockhart. Many people in the country music scene are well aware of Mick and all of his achievements having worked with some of the biggest household names in the country scene. When Jeremy started working with Mick his songs took a completely different sound on mixing Jeremy’s pop/rock roots with Mick’s country groove giving the songs a very unique feel and sound to them.
Jeremy has been involved in the Australian music industry for over nine years now and has had great success from his hometown roots in Townsville, North Queensland as well as in some international markets such as Japan and Canada. Jeremy also won the Australia Day Cultural award for his contributions to the music scene in his North Queensland hometown in 2010.
He released his debut album The Shore at the young age of 16 and has since been playing music all over the world and working on his follow up EP All You’re Meant To Be. He was named Townsville’s artist of the month for September in 2017 after his two singles off his upcoming EP caught the cities attention very quickly. He has opened for many touring acts including Pete Murray, Clint Boge, Angus & Julia Stone, Boy and Bear and many more.
‘All You’re Meant to Be’ will be in Digital Stores on the 26th of January.
