2016 Pitchfork Music Festival Announces Schedule & Festival Features

Pitchfork Music FestivalThe 2016 Pitchfork Music Festival, happening Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 17 at Chicago’s Union Park, is one month away and this year’s schedule has been finalized. Each year, the festival is curated to strike a balance between discovery and celebration—a true music fan’s destination. The independently run event continues to be one of the world’s most exciting festivals and has been praised by artists and fans alike for its welcoming and intimate atmosphere and wide-ranging music. Three-day passes are still available for $165 and single day passes for Friday and Saturday are available for $65. The final batch of Saturday single day passes have now been released.

The Pitchfork Music Festival is also excited to announce The Old Town School of Folk Music Kids Area, a special new addition to the 2016 festival for families attending with younger children. Old Town School and Wiggleworms welcome young children and families to an interactive musical world! Kids will be encouraged to experiment with instruments, drum, strum, and pick up some fun festival giveaways. The kids area will be open Friday 3-6pm, Saturday/Sunday 12-6pm.

Additionally, the festival has recently announced the Pitchfork Music Festival Voter Engagement and Mobilization Project, a new platform to support voter registration and political participation. In conjunction with the Public Action Foundation, the Voter Engagement and Mobilization Project aims to make a difference in both Chicago and the wider Pitchfork community.

As with previous years, the festival will feature Flatstock, CHIRP Record Fair, Coterie Craft Fair, and Book Fort. More information can be found here.
