THE STRUMBELLAS Share Official Music Video For ‘SPIRITS’ – Streaming Now

strumbellasThe Strumbellas release the official music video for their debut single, Spirits, via Billboard. The video, directed by Daniel AM Rosenberg and produced by Michael Goldlist, was shot last month at St. Aidan’s Anglican Church in Toronto.Spirits is the first track off The Strumbellas forthcoming album Hope, due out April 22nd on Six Shooter Records in Canada and Glassnote Records internationally.

Released in the U.S. just three weeks ago, Spirits is this week’s #1 most added song at alternative radio for the second time in three weeks. With 17 adds this week alone, it is one of the biggest add weeks at alternative radio for a debut U.S. single in the past 10 years. The track is currently perched at #5 on the Alt Rock chart in Canada, #21 at Active Rock, and climbing. Additionally, this week the track hit #4 on Spotify’s U.S. Viral Chart and #7 on the Spotify Global Viral Chart. Spirits is available now at iTunes.

The band will hit the road in Canada next month, touring with Blue Rodeo. They head back across the border to play their first U.S. show, since being signed to Glassnote, on March 10th at New York’s Mercury Lounge, followed by a trip to Austin for SXSW.

Teaming up with LA Producer/Engineer, Dave Schiffman (Johnny Cash, Haim, Weezer), The Strumbellas hunkered down at Toronto’s Lincoln County Social Club studio to record Hope. The Strumbellas’ sound – haunting lyrics fused with infectious, danceable melodies – has been a consistent theme in their music and has been shared with fans through extensive touring; including a series of residencies, sold out tours and festivals across the country. They were anointed ‘Band To Watch’ by CBC Music and have won six awards to date, including a JUNO Award, Sirius XM Indie Award as well as a spot on the Polaris Music Prize Long List.
