First Nations producer crew, A Tribe Called Red, have released a new version of legendary singer, Buffy Sainte-Marie’s track. Working For The Government, from her 2008 album, Running For The Drum. The song is an up-tempo dig at the anonymous “yes men” and enforcers of government policies that might not actually serve the public interest. Download the song at www.atribecalledred.com.
This is a long awaited coming together between the Cree singer-songwriter, activist, educator, visual artist, and winner of countless awards (Oscar, JUNO, and Golden Globe among them), and one of the most impressive bands to recently come out of Canada, representing the new generation of indigenous artists.
