Alt/electronic singer, songwriter, producer Ki:Theory releases a new single “If You Don’t Care /Fake It”today, backed with a transcending remix by GANZ. This is the second in a series of new singles that sees Ki: Theory continuing with his eletronic manipulation of live instrumentation topped with layering uniquely distorted vocals into a style reminiscent of the more ambient side of NIN. Ki:Theory explains, “This is one my favorite songs I’ve written in quite some time…I tried to walk the line of creating a hard hitting electronic rock track that has the hook and catch of a pop song. During the writing, I was watching a lot of documentaries on some dark subject matter. The cynicism may have bled through…”
His offical remixes are as diverse as his musical scope, a list that includes Daft Punk, Cypress Hill, Queens of The Stone Age, ODESZA, Sasha, and Hans Zimmer. It’s no wonder that he hand picked Netherlands beat maker GANZ who takes the song to the next level by lending his euphoric wavvy synths, speeding up the vocals and flawlessly incorporating a trappy back beat.
As if his remix list didn’t give it away, Ki:Theory is one of those diversified artists who at one minute is personally requested to DJ at Betsey Johnson’s Fashion Week galas, while the next you’ll be hearing his tunes in various Film and TV Spots for CSI and his official cover of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me” that was featured in a Superbowl Ad for the hit show The Following. His talents have also made him the #1 most added artist at CMJ RPM and have landed him in the Top 25 on iTunes.
Having recently opened for Phantogram, Ki:Theory is currently back on tour this June, playing alongside like-minded musicians with upcoming shows that include June 11 in Philadelphia with Until The Ribbon Breaks followed by a performance slot during Northside Festival on June 14th with K.Flay.
