Perennial pop and indie-rock wizards Yukon Blonde revealed the sure to be summer anthem “I Wanna Be Your Man” yesterday, who note that “The band’s previous releases recalled Fleet Foxes and other pastoral-minded ’70s rock, however, its latest offering has more in common with the likes of psychedelic contemporaries Tame Impala.” The track comes in anticipation of the band’s third LP, On Blonde, set for release on June 16 via Dine Alone Records. In celebration of the new album, one of Canada’s finest live acts is set for a North American summer tour that kicks off in New York on June 15. Full Yukon Blonde tour dates are listed below.

On Blonde builds on Yukon Blonde’s reputation for seamlessly crafted pop songs with infectious melodies and hooks, while experimenting with psychedelic, digital, and synthetic sounds. It is an album gazing wistfully away towards the more shadowy elements of pop production, soft synthesizers, thin punching bass lines, crushed drums, 80s cosmic pop compositions and saturated psychedelic guitar effects.

Produced by Colin Stewart (Black Mountain, Dan Mangan, Sleepy Sun) and mixed by Tony Hoffer (M83, Beck, Foster the People, Air, Depeche Mode) the album is distinct in its shimmering pop production and Yukon Blonde’s trademark hard-hitting choruses.
