ROMI MAYES Shares Preview of New Album  With Stream & Music Video ‘DEVIL ON BOTH SHOULDERS’

ROMI MAYES 2Available to stream “Devil On Both Shoulders” is the new album from one of the hardest working independent musicians today, Romi Mayes. The Winnipeg songwriter’s sixth full-length album, Devil On Both Shoulders, is set for release on May 12. Her previous albums have garnered 3 Western Canadian Music Awards for Songwriter of the Year, 2 Western Canadian Music Awards for Album of The Year, a JUNO Award nomination and various other Canadian Music Award nominations.

Supporting the album Mayes hits the road for a lengthy string of tour dates across Canada, starting with a home opener in Winnipeg on May 8 and lasting well into August. STREAM DEVIL ON BOTH SHOULDERS HERE

Together with producer Grant Siemens (Corb Lund) Mayes approached Devil On Both Shoulders from a very raw and real perspective. “His impeccable sentimentalities really brought the groove and the flow to the album,” says Mayes. “There was so much respect, trust, and commitment to the end result that we worked together flawlessly. His confidence in me as a songwriter and a singer brought out my best, and pushed me to a higher level of writing and performance.” Joined in studio by Damon Mitchell (The New Meanies, Nathan), Alexa Dirks (Chic Gamine), Bernie Thiessen (Big Dave McLean), and Marc Arnould, the result brings a new jolt to Mayes’ already powerful sound.

Mayes has relentlessly toured Canada, US, Europe, UK, and has shared the stage with the likes of Levon Helm, Derek Trucks, Ricky Skaggs, Jim Cuddy, Gordie Johnson, Guy Clark, Sue Foley, Fred Eaglesmith, Corb Lund, Blackie and The Rodeo Kings, and many more.
