Agnes Obel‘s North American tour has begun! The Danish singer/songwriter, who played a sold out show at Toronto’s Great Hall last Friday, will be performing in Quebec this week and then make her way across the US in support of her sophomore album, Aventine, out now on Play It Again Sam/[PIAS] America. With plans to drop in at SXSW to continue promoting her new release, Obel has debuted a new music video for the title track, directed by Alex Bruel Flagstad. Watch it now!

Obel’s sophomore album Aventine has been well received by European critics, entering the Top 5 album chart in four countries, and reaching No.1 in her native Denmark and No.2 in France. With Agnes on the piano, she performs as a trio accompanied by Anne Müller and Mika Posen on cello and viola respectively. All of the songs on Aventine were written (music and lyrics), recorded, produced and arranged by Agnes Obel roughly from the beginning of 2012 until late spring 2013, at home in Berlin and in a rented drum studio in the Kreuzberg district. Aventine is the third single to be taken from the album, following The Curse and Dorian.
