To purchase the album, visit: http://bit.ly/TES3Bn To celebrate the release of Come & Go, Hilary has just released a video for the catchy second single “Chemical Reaction”. Funded by Telus and Public Records through the 2014 Winter Music Video Fund, Hilary Grist’s new video is a whimsical adventure that combines stop motion, hand drawn chalkboard animation and live action.
Hilary and director/husband Mike Southworth transformed all the walls in their studio apartment into a giant 30ft long x 12ft high chalkboard on which they created the backgrounds for the video. Given the large scope of this project, Grist also enlisted some additional local talent to help. Renowned west coast artist Dana Irving helped create the cityscapes, animator Sitji Chou helped turn Hilary’s cartoons into animations, and Adam Thomas helped with the chalkboard backgrounds. The end result is an original and fun visual representation of the crazy chemical reaction that happens when you fall in love.
Hilary will also be playing a number of glorious shows this summer in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan, including a special dual CD release show in Vancouver on June 26 at the Rio Theatre with Dominique Fricot. For full tour details, see below.
